I think the Syed deal took so long given how dodgy and complex his financial backing appeared to be.

Venky’s are a billion GBP concern – much easier to verify their finances. All things considered, given Syed’s later track record, I prefer Venky’s (of the two).

I’m also left wondering what life at Rovers would have been like had Syed taken charge.

There was 4-5 months deliberation over his takeover attempt and then Venkys seemed to waltz in on the 11th hour with no problems.

I actually considered the fact that Venkys WANT relegation a few days ago and you have put my thoughts perfectly into words.

It would have been far better for Venkys to purchase a club with low running costs and try to build on that.

Very well written. Easy to believe Venkys would prefer the cheaper championship option. Just hope it doesn’t come to it.

Good article. Though i am not sure their intentions are important. I say this as i think they are incompetent in the extreme and so unable to execute any plan. I expect them to just continue crash around like a clown in a minefield !

Great piece. Therein lies my thought’s & that of many BRFC fan’s. That is that Venky’s, more likely than not will still be able to exit the club in some sort of profit regardless of the circumstances. When the possibility of playing Championship football next year doesn’t really hold any fear for the owner’s, it is a sorry state of affair’s. It is alright for outsider’s to criticise BRFC fan’s for voicing these complaint’s but how many would want either Steve Kean or Venky’s managing or in charge of their club? I would take a serious guess at exactly none!

When you are so close to a situation it’s sometimes had to see beyond the next game and what is going on around you. Your blog has put it all into sharper focus. I’m sad to say the points you make are all very valid. It’s up to Rovers Players and Fans to prove themselves in these final games with or without Venkys help.
